Linda Sue Fields, 53    

Linda Sue Fields, 53, of Levasy Road, died Monday, June 13, 2005, at her home following a short illness. 

Born Oct. 30, 1951, at Richwood, she was a daughter of Charles and Margaret Jeffers Lockard of Franklin.  She attended O'Dell Town Freewill Baptist Church of Nettie and was a homemaker. 

In addition to her parents, those left to mourn her passing, are her husband, Roy Eldon Fields of Nettie; two daughters , Amanda Davis of Brandywine and Marsha Russell of Leviasy; two sons, Andy Fields of Brandywine and Eric Fields at home (Nettie); two sisters, Frances Jenkins of Franklin and charlotte Stevens of Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Edward Lockard of Franklin; and three grandchildren, Danielle and Christopher Fields and Skyler Davis.   

Mona A. Hinkle

Arveta “Granny” Hinkle, 93, of Franklin and formerly of Riverton, was taken to heaven to be with the Lord, at 6:00 p.m. Monday,  June 27, 2005.

Ms. Hinkle was born June 18, 1912, the daughter of Mary Artie Hedrick and  Robert Bruce Hinkle, of the Simoda, near Riverton.

She was reunited with her parents; her eldest son, David Elwood Heltzel of STaunto, VA; two grandsons, Kevin Heltzel of Staunton, VA, and Tim heltzel of Bridgewtaer, VA; three brothers, mason Strawder, Michael Hinkle and Richard Hinkle; and a nephew, royal Thompson, all of whom preceded her in death. 

She will be sadly and deeply missed by her remaining children, Hallie J. Beveridge of Martinsburg; Richard W. “Pete” Thompson and wife, Shirley, of Bridgewater, Va; Ralph J. Hinkle and wife, Rose, of Marlinton; Paul E. Hinkle and wife, Betty, of Wardensville; Annabel Craig and husband, Jeff, of Moyers; a daughter-in-law, Helen Groves of Penn Laird, VA; and a granddaughter whom she raised as her own, Kim Ruddle and her husband, Ed of Franklin. 

there are 12 grown grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren whose lives are richer for being a part of her family, but emptier now that she is gone. 

She also leaves the love her brother, Robert Hinkle and his wife, Lona, her sister, Eva Thompson, all of Riverton; and her sister-in-law Georgia Strawder, of Franklin; also several nieces and nephews and an untold number of friends.  

The family will receive friends in her honor at the Basagic Funeral Home this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

Services will be conducted Friday, July 1, at 2 :00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul O’Gorek officiating. Burial will follow in North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton. 

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Pendleton County Emergency Rescue or Pendleton Nursing Home.
