Billy Allen Puffenbarger
Mr. Billy Allen Puffenbarger, 70, of Brandywine died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Rockingham Memorial Hospitalin Harrisonburg, Virginia.
He was born Feb 15, 1942 at Sugar Grove and was the son of the late Lester V. Puffenbarger and Verna MaeMitchell Puffenbarger.
Billy was a farmer, owned and operated B & N Trout Farm and had retired from Wampler Foods in 2007. Hewas a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church.
On Dec 1, 1961, he married Norma R. Puffenbarger, who preceded him in death on March 28, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, Denise Neil of Sugar Grove and Pam Parker of Huntingburg, IN; one son, BrianPuffenbarger of Brandywine; eight grandchildren, Quentin Dove, Keisha Gangwer, Brandon Wimer, Mallory Neil, Coty Puffenbarger, Chad Neil, Carrie Puffenbarger and Autumn Puffenbarger; three great-grandchildren, Reice Hedrick, Quaid Dove, and Cora Dove; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Theodore "Ted" Puffenbarger.
Funeral services were held Friday, at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, with Rev. Cindy Skinnerofficiating. Burial was at Sugar Grove Cemetery at Sugar Grove.

Dorsaleen (Auville) Stump, age 81, of Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at WinchesterMedical Center.
She was born September 11, 1930 in Brood, and was a daughter of the late Rock P. Auville and Florida(Hedrick) Auville.
She was a member of the Corner United Methodist Church
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Her husband, Clarence J. Stump preceded her in death on September 23, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters: Dianna (Daniel) Ritchey of Alexandria, VA, Vicky (Thomas) Harper of Riverton;two sons, Gary (Connie) Stump of Leesburg, VA, Barry (Diane) Stump of Capon Bridge; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Roger Joe Stump; two sisters, Pauline Stump and Josie Morley; onebrother, Paul Auville.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, with Pastor Jay Linaburg andRev. Joseph Gerstell officiating. Douglas B. Stetson, 83
Mr. Douglas B. Stetson, 83, of Sugar Grove, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Avante of Harrisonburg, VA.
He was born in Madison, Maine on January 3, 1929, and was the son of the late Ralph D. Stetson and ElsieStoutamyer Stetson.
Mr. Stetson had worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an LPN at a Mental Health Hospital andafter retirement, moved to Pendleton County where he and his life partner of 40 years, Gordon A. Gaskill, who died May 24, 2012, owned and operated a farm and enjoyed horses and breeding miniature dashers. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are one daughter - Sharon Fitzmorris and her husband, Jerry of Skowhegan, Maine; one son - JamesStetson of Skowhegan, Maine; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
Inurnment was private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert Morford, Jr., 32
Robert “Bobby” Morford Jr., 32, of Bridgewater, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the University ofVirginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA.
He was born Jan. 11, 1980, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a son of Bob and Sharon Morford, who reside inUpper Tract.
He was a 1998 graduate of Franklin High School in West Virginia and was employed at Dynamic Aviation. Heattended and served at Valley Church in Harrisonburg and enjoyed playing on the church softball team.
His wife, Kristy Roadcap Morford, survives.
Also surviving are one son, Chance; a daughter, Chazlyn; two brothers, Phillip Morford of Jacksonville, N.C.,and Jon Morford of Harrisonburg, VA; three sisters, Natalie Propst of Washington, D.C., Emily Propst of Boseman, MT., and Stephanie Morford of Roanoke, VA; six nieces and four nephews.
A funeral service was held Saturday at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg with Pastor Larry Risingofficiating. Burial followed in the Mount Crawford Cemetery.

Betty Chapman, 86
Betty Lambert Chapman, 86, of Winchester, Va, died July 27, 2012, at her residence.
She was born April 9, 1926, in Dayton, VA, a daughter of the late Virgil Edgar Lambert and Vernie GlickLambert.
Mrs. Chapman graduated from Dayton High School and attended Bridgewater College. She devoted her life tobeing a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winchester, VA.
Her husband, Billy S. Chapman, whom she married on Aug. 2, 1947, in Dayton, VA survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael L. Chapman of Frederick County, VA; a daughter, Molly A. Chapman ofWinchester, VA; a granddaughter, Sarah Abbene Marion and husband, John; a grandson, Kelly S. Chapman; a great-granddaughter, Lorelai Marion; and one sister, Dorothy L. Bowman of Franklin.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, R. Bruce Lambert.
A funeral service was held Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester, VA, with the Rev. WilliamWhite officiating. Burial followed in Lacey Spring Cemetery in Lacey Spring, VA.

Lona Rebecca Hinkle
Lona Rebecca (Harper) Hinkle, age 89 of Riverton, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Pendleton Manor.
She was born on March 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Jason Dice and Nela (Day) Harper.
Mrs. Hinkle retired as a Librarian after working 20 years at the Circleville School Library. She was a Cook for16 years at the 4-U Restaurant and she also worked at Hanover Shoe Company in Franklin. She was a member of the Riverton United Methodist Church and attended Circleville High School.
Her husband, Robert Bruce Hinkle, preceded her in death on August 8, 2008.
Surviving are a daughter, Norma Heinrich and husband Lawrence of Petersburg; a son, Leland Dice Hinkle andwife Kwang of Toney, AL; four grandchildren, Sandra, Michelle, Deana, Mark; two sisters, Roberta Weese and husband Quentin of Riverton, Leva Harper of Warren, OH; four great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edsel Harper; two sisters, Elsie Hinkle and Gae Nell Landes.
Funeral services were held on Saturday the Riverton United Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Kile willofficiating. Interment was at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.
Memorials may be made to the North Fork Volunteer Rescue Squad.
