John David Siever

John David Siever, 57, of Rhodhiss, NC, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 4, 1953, in Pendleton County, he was a son of A. R. Cave, Jr. And Mary K Cave of Harrisonburg, VA.

Mr. Siever was a member of Mt. Herman United Methodist Church in Virginia.

His wife, Blanche “Cookie” Harrison, survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steven Harrison and wife, Laura of Hudson, NC, and J. D. Siever and wife, Katie of Elliston, VA; three daughters, Angela Siever and husband, Danny, and Jessie Siever and husband, Keith, all of Rhodhiss, NC, and Amy Mc-Cauley and husband, Jeff of Bridgewater, VA; one brother, David Cave and wife, Viki of Harrisonburg, VA; two sisters, Judy Early and husband, Glenn of Timberville, VA, and Joyce Smith of Murels Inlet, SC; seven grandchildren; grand-dog, “Zena,” and special companion, “Foxy Lady.”

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Rebecca Harrison.

A graveside service was held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Lenoir, NC, with the Rev. Glenn Early officiating.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the National Kidney Foundation, 4819 Park Road, Suite C, Charlotte, NC 28209-3842.

Zernia Hinkle

Zernia Hinkle, age 81 of Pendleton Manor, formerly of Riverton, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

She was born on June 10, 1930 at Riverton, the daughter of the late Edward and Margie Lambert Hinkle.

Ms. Hinkle was a homemaker.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Hinkle of Circleville, WV; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Mike, Steven, and Danny Lee Hinkle: a daughter, Carolyn Isner; a grandson; three brothers, Alvin, Charles, Ivan; and a sister, Nellie Mick.

At the request of Ms. Hinkle, her body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the North Fork Baptist Church with pastor Todd Bruce officiating.

Eldon Bruce Keplinger, Sr.

Eldon Bruce Keplinger, Sr., age 71, of Petersburg, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Keplinger was born on August 4, 1940 in Pendleton County to the late James W. Keplinger and Janet Ellen Hartman Keplinger.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired Boiler Maker, a member of the American Legion Post #78 in Petersburg, and a member of the Masonic Lodge Post # 145 AF & AM. He was an Osiris Shriner and found great pleasure in helping children. He attended the Riverside Church in Dolly Town, WV.

On December 5, 1959 he married his wife of 51 years, Naomi Goldizen Keplinger, who survives and is living in Petersburg.

Also surviving are three children: Eldon “Skeet” Keplinger, Jr. and wife, Dana of Maysville, WV, Connie Wolford and husband, Greg of Cabins, WV, and Jeanette Simmons of Springs, PA, three sisters: Pat Yokum of Petersburg, Shelby Rumor and husband, Glen of Gambrills, MD, and Dana Keplinger of Upper Tract, four grandchildren: Gregory A Wolford, Jr., Trevor A. Wolford, J. Hunter Wright, and Jessalyn Simmons, and one great-grandson, Lucas P. Wolford.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale “Red” Keplinger.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Riverside Church in Dolly Town with Pastor Tommy George officiating. Burial will follow at the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Veterans Organizations of Grant County and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Riverside Church or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

William Martin, 88

William Barr Martin, age 88, of Richmond, VA and formerly of Annandale, VA died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Hope Health Center in Richmond, VA.

Mr. Martin was born on September 29, 1922 in Vidalia, GA and was the son of the late Emory Spencer Martin and Marcia (Barr) Martin.

He was a graduate of the University of Florida. He was an accountant for the US Government and the State of Virginia for over 40 years.

His wife Pauline (Cleaver) Martin, formerly of Rough Run, WV, preceded him in death.

Surviving are five sons, William L. Martin of Annandale, VA, David B. Martin of Memphis, TN, Michael C. Martin of Humble, TX, J. Eric Martin of Richmond, VA, Jeffrey M. Martin of Leesburg, VA; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Sunday, Sept 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kline Cemetery, Kline, WV with Rev Stanley Kile.

Avery Miller, Infant

Avery Michael Miller, infant son of Patrick Callahan and Heather Michelle Stout Miller, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Calvin and Fern Kline of Franklin, WV; paternal grandparents, Rob and Sandra Miller of Buckhannon; paternal great grandmothers, Teresa Grace Phillips and Eleanor Jo Miller both of Buckhannon.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
