Dwaine Helman 

Dwaine L. Helman, 55 of Franklin died Monday, November 15, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Center, Martinsburg. 

He was born Dec. 13, 1948, at Keyser and was the son of the late Edward Helman and Delphia Helman Everett. 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War.  He received the Vietnam Army National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, The Purple Heart and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. 

He worked for the Town of Franklin before he retired in 2004.  

On October 18, 1974, he married Loretta Jean Armentrout Helman, who survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, Dwaine Lee Helman and wife, Crystal of Brandywine, and Joseph Wayne Helman and wife, Patrice of Havelock, NC; four sisters, Joyce Hummer of Hamilton , VA, Sue Barton of Richmond, VA, Phyllis Lewis of Romney, and Sally Helman of Romney; one brother, Roger Everett of Purgitsville; three granddaughters, Jessica Helman, Audrey Helman and Caludia Helman; and one grandson, Joseph Michael Helman. 

He was preceded in death by one brother, George Helman. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Today at the Kimble Funeral Home chapel, Franklin with Pastor Rob Borror officiating. 

The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kimble Funeral Home. 

Betty Harper, 77

Mrs. Betty Harper, 77, of Franklin died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Judy Waggy. 

On April 25, 1942, she married Arnold Harper, who preceded her in death on March 18, 1994. 

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time and under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home, Franklin.
