Arvella Haren

Arvella (Ketterman) Haren, age 81, of Warren, Ohio and formerly of Onego, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Joseph's Health Care in Warren, Ohio.

She was born July 27, 1930 in Onego, and was the daughter of the late Arlie Ketterman and Beulah (Harper) Ketterman.

She graduated from Circleville High School in 1948 and was a homemaker.

Her husband of 62 years, John J. Haren, survives.

Also surviving are one daughter: Deloris Ann Haren of Warren, OH; one brother: Hancel Ketterman and wife Linda of Seneca Rocks.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Fransis Haren,and five brothers, Randell, Oran, Delbert, infant brothers, Ivan and Doland Ketterman.

Graveside services were held December 8 at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton, with Rev. Earl Bible officiating.

Roma Ruth Underwood

Roma Ruth Underwood, age 87 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

She was born on January 22, 1924, in Mt. Lookout, the daughter of the late Rufus and Gladys Margaret Walters Underwood.

Ms. Underwood retired a produce farmer and restaurant worker. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed playing the guitar and country and western music. She took great pleasure in helping others.

Surviving are a daughter, Frances McLaughlin of Kissimmee, FL; and a son, Tony Underwood of Portersville, PA.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Reubin Underwood.

A graveside Service was held Friday at the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract with Elder David Hartman officiating.

Edward Douglas Waggy

Edward Douglas Waggy, 27, of Laramie, Wyoming and formerly of Franklin passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 3, 2011.

He was born February 24, 1984 at Harrisonburg, VA, the son of Charles D. and Paula J. (Dickerson) Waggy. He was the grandson of Pauline and the late Carson Waggy of Reeds Creek, and Mary and the late Paul Dickerson of North Canton, OH.

Mr. Waggy graduated from Pendleton County High School in 2002. He attended the University of Wyoming and earned a bachelor's degree in 2007 and an MS in kinesiology in 2011. He worked as a Wildland Fire Fighter for the U.S. Forest Service for nine seasons. Edward worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Wyoming from 2006-2011.

In addition to his parents and grandmothers, he is survived by his sister, Gretchen Grammer of Adelaide, Australia and his girlfriend, Sara Lookabill of Laramie, WY. 

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Rev. Rita Beeman officiating. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract, West Virginia.

Rose Marie Andrews

Rose Marie Smith Andrews, 68, of Suffolk, VA and formerly of Maysville, passed away December 6, 2011 at her residence.

She was born May 2, 1943, in Maysville, the daughter of the late Russell and Mary Jane “Tiny” Ruby Smith.

Mrs. Andrews was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Suffolk, VA, where she was very active. She was a 1961 graduate of Petersburg High School.

Her first husband, Alvin Owen Rohrbaugh preceded her in death.

Her second husband and life partner, Danny William Andrews, survives.

Also surviving are two sons, William Owen Rohrbaugh and wife, Shelly, of Green Castle, PA, Steven Daniel Andrews and wife, Jean, of New Midway, MD; daughter, Cathy Lynn LeGore and husband, Jim, of Thurmont, MD; three brothers Bob Smith, John Smith, and Gary Smith and wife, Donna, all of Maysville,, three sisters; Reva Jean Hartman of Franklin, Dorris Mongold of Arthur, and Donna Smith and husband Ron McLaren of Woodbridge, VA; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Tyeryar; and a brother, William Smith.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, Maysville, with Pastor Duke Nelson officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fourth Friday Community Supper, Main Street United Methodist Church, 202 N. Main Street, Suffolk, VA, 23434.

Alta C. Conrad

Alta Catherine (Judy) Conrad, age 91, of Dinwiddie, VA and formerly of Petersburg died Saturday, December 10, 2011.

She was born in Smoke Hole, West Virginia and a daughter of the late George and Florence Judy.

Her husband, Virgil T. Conrad preceded her in death.

Mrs. Conrad is survived by her daughter, Judy Mae Rose and husband Tom of Dinwiddie, VA; two sons, Oliver T. Conrad and wife Shirley of Charles City, VA and Olin G. Conrad and wife Mary Jane of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Minnie Shreve, Margie Ludwick, Rhoda Stump, Verda Whetzel and Minnie Judy; and three brothers, Biser Judy, Kermit Judy and Charles Kimble.

A graveeside service was held Tuesday, at the Rose Family Cemetery in Dinwiddie, VA.

Ruby Jean Dolly

Ruby Jean Dolly, age 77 of Riverton, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

She was born at Whitmer, on March 31, 1934, the daughter of the late Sunday (1956) and Pearl Humphrey Dolly (1979).

Ruby was a 1952 graduate of Harman High School, was a Methodist by faith, and retired from Franklin Garment Company.

Surviving are her companion of 38 years, Charles Pink Vint; a twin sister, Ruth Long of Whitmer; three brothers, Eugene “Gene” Dolly and wife Betty of Belington, Jack Dolly and wife Margaret of Ripley, and Mike Dolly of Whitmer

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Clifford, Billie, Leon, John, Floyd; three sisters, Vivian Tyre, Dorothy Sites, and Noami Warner.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. A. Stanley Kile officiating. Interment will be at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.

Memorials may be made to the North Fork Rescue Squad.
