Yuletide Traditions of Pendleton County West Virginia

My mother was a Hedrick with roots in Pendleton County. She said at Christmas they would get an orange in their stocking (I think an orange was a big deal back then!!) and her father would make wooden toys for the children - ten in her family. Sometimes they might get a new pair of shoes. She talked about taking sleigh rides and how much fun they were. Contributed by Becky Lucas
