Dear Mr. Shockey:
I am a member of the Summers Co. Cemetery Book committee, and at
the advisement of the Editor of the cemetery book, I want to bring
a complaint to your attention. The Summers Co. Historical Society
compiled, published and put on the market one year ago, the Summers Co.
Cemetery Book. As of now, the Summers Co. WVGenWeb page by
Butch Miller is using the Summers Co. Cemetery Book to list the Summers
Co. Cemeteries on the GenWeb page. We told Mr. Miller several
months ago that we did not want him to use the Summers Co. Cemetery Book
for the web page/and or internet. He and Valarie Crook went against
our wishes and are putting the cemetery listings on the Summers Co. web
without the Summers Co. Historical Societies consent. It is illegal for him to use this material. If he does not pull the information from the web page and refrain from using the information from the Summers Co. Cemetery Book legal action will be taken against him and anyone else involved in this procedure. The book is in the process of being copyrighted. We ask that you as head of the WVGenWeb Project see that Mr. Butch Miller and Valarie Crook pull the information immediately. Thank you for any help, that you may give us in settling this matter.
