| Welcome
to DAR and to historic Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
Located in the Eastern Panhandle, the town of Bath
established December 6, 1776 by the General Assembly of
the Commonwealth of Virginia. George Washington himself was among the first
visitors to the "warm springs" where he
purchased lots in 1758. He
visited at least once in the 1790s. Incorporated
as Bath, it is referred to by the name of its post
office, Berkeley Springs. |
