Bailey J. Zickefoose
Bailey J. Zickefoose, 81, a resident of HC 36, Box 195, Tallmansville, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Tallmansville.
He was born Aug. 16, 1923, at Queens, a son of the late Parley Bill Zickefoose and Carrie Bailey Zickefoose.
On March 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Genevieve Kirby Zickefoose, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debra Kay Zickefoose and Gary Hull of Abbott and Kathy Crites and husband, Kirk, of Buckhannon; two sons, Bailey Zickefoose Jr. and Cindy Swecker of Mill Creek and Gregory Zickefoose and wife, Carrie, of Queens; two granddaughters, Gina Brown and husband, Mike, and Amanda Hunt; five grandsons, Jerry Alan Zickefoose and wife, Jodi, Michael Hunt, Ryan Zickefoose, Joshua Zickefoose and Chad Zickefoose; two great-granddaughters, Destiny Brown and Bethany Brown; two great-grandsons, Christian Brown and Bryce Moran; two brothers Orvil “Pete” Zickefoose of Buckhannon and Ronald Zickefoose of Ohio; and three sisters, Myrtle Zickefoose, Norma Jean Gary and Letha Reed, all of Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
He was the owner of Bailey Zickefoose Lumber Co. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663 and American Legion Post 7.

Bailey J. Zickefoose, 81, a resident of Tallmansville, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lanham Cemetery at Queens with the Rev. Jeff Zickefoose and the Rev. Josie Tenney officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Church or Lanham Cemetery.  From 7 Mar 2005. 

George O. Zickefoose
George O. “Joe” Zickefoose, 79, of Route 1, French Creek, the Etna community, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.
He was born April 22, 1926, at Shinnston, a son of the late Alpha and Elsie Grace Moats Zickefoose. Joe moved to Selbyville in 1940.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Violet June Page Zickefoose, whom he married Dec. 2, 1947.
He is also survived by three daughters, Judy Brady and friend, Dr. Al Paz, of Buckhannon, Brenda Lewis Phipps and husband, James, of French Creek, the Etna community, and Joyce Carpenter and husband, Allen, of Rock Cave, the Selbyville Road; five grandchildren, Beverly Brady Price, Jodi Carpenter Nelson, June Lewis Coffman, Stacy Carpenter and Patrick Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Glenny Pringle of Monaca, Pa., Gazelle Hammick, Bertie Dean and Margaret Orsburn, all of Buckhannon; one brother, Leon Zickefoose of Hackers Creek; one sister-in-law, Willowdean Zickefoose of Fulton, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dickie Zickefoose, Calvin Zickefoose and Ted Zickefoose; and two sisters, Lemoyne Page and Oleta Collins.
Mr. Zickefoose was a member of United Mine Workers Association, American Legion Post 148, French Creek Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36, Masonic Lodge 81 AF & AM of Rock Cave and Lions Club Highland District 29-1. He was a charter member of Selbyville Volunteer Fire Department, a board member for the James Curry Library and loved woodworking, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the European theater with the 3rd Division. He attended Newlon United Methodist church.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Heavner, the Rev. Conrad Tenney and James Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Dale Cemetery at Selbyville, where Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars 3663, the Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion and Disabled American Veterans 5 and 36 will conduct military honors. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Newlon United Methodist Church in care of Violet Zickefoose, Route 1 Box 90A, French Creek, W.Va. 26218.  From 19 Sep 2005.

Junior D. Zickefoose
Junior Denzil Zickefoose, 85, a resident of 329 Duff Ave. in Clarksburg, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Aug. 26, 1919, at Hampton, a son of the late James Zickefoose and Iway Zickefoose.
He was married to Gladys Smith Zickefoose, who preceded him in death Feb. 9, 1998.
Surviving are one daughter, Millie Zickefoose Smith of Clarksburg; three grandsons, Joseph Danes, Josh Lebrun and Theodore O’Connell, all of Clarksburg; and one great-grandson, Tannium Danes of Clarksburg.
Preceding him in death were seven brothers and sisters.
He was a truck driver with the West Virginia Department of Highways.
Friends will be received today from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hinkleville.   From 22 Feb 2005. 

Newton “Bud” Zirk
Newton “Bud” Zirk, 72, of Stephens City, Va., and formerly of Maysville, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at the home of his sisters, Mary and Bob Walker and Nellie Snoots, in Stephens City, Va.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Ted Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Lahmansville Cemetery.  From 8 Jun 2005.

Alice V. Zirkle
Alice V. Zirkle, 84, a resident of Route 3, Shooks Run Road, Philippi, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in Ruby Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Zirkle was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Preston County, a daughter of the late Ivan and Ada Funk Howdershelt.
In her early years, she worked at a glass factory in Morgantown and later at Sterling Facuet. In 1946, she met the love her life, Willard O. Zirkle, and was married Dec. 26, 1946. They moved to a farm, her second love in life, on Shooks Run Road in Philippi.
In addition to the livestock, they raised two daughters, Susan Zirkle of Elkins and Mary Wolfe and husband, Robert, of Philippi; four sons, Ronald R. Zirkle and wife, Bonnie, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., W. Dale Zirkle and wife, Lora, of Fairmont, Jim Zirkle and wife, Clarice, of Belington, and Danny Zirkle of Philippi; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Flora Cox of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Meril Nestor and Beatrice Howdershelt, both of Bruceton Mills, and Mildred Meyers of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one brother, Ralph Howdershelt of Lordstown, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two infant sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Zirkle’s life was surrounded by many young children along with her loving nature of always willing to extend a helping hand. She attended the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home in Philippi from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Jada E. Zirkle
Jada Elizabeth Zirkle, the infant daughter of Raymond Lee and Courtney Marie Roth Zirkle, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are a brother, Damien Zirkle; and three sisters, Kelcie Zirkle, Paige Zirkle and Aaliyah McBride, all of Elkins; her paternal grandparents, Laurel Zirkle of Norton and Paula and George Strader Jr. of Elkins; her maternal grandparents, Terrill and Denise Roth of Elkins; a paternal great-grandmother, Catherine McCoy; and maternal great-grandparents, Mildred and Willard Shaffer, all of Elkins. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, William “Bill” McCoy and Everett and Thelma Zirkle; and maternal great-grandparents, John and Lucille Roth.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Mountain State Memorial Gardens with Pastor David Collins officiating. Burial will follow. Lillian V. Zirkle
Mrs. Lillian Virginia Delauder Zirkle, 81, a resident of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center and a former resident of Dogtown Road near Belington, departed this life at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital following a long period of failing health.
She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Belington at the Stringtown Community, a daughter of the late William Bright and Mary Etta Moore Delauder.
On June 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Vincent Blaine Zirkle, who preceded her in death Jan. 17, 2005.
Mrs. Zirkle is survived by two sons, Roger Zirkle and wife, Linda, of Fisherville, Va. and Melvin Zirkle and wife, Tammy, of Belington. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin Zirkle of Virginia, Rodney Zirkle of Iowa, Vincent Zirkle of New Jersey and Heather Phillips of Valley Bend; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, Katelyn and Faith Zirkle and Victoria and Tyler Anderson; several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, three half sisters, three brothers, and four half brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She attended the schools of Barbour County, was a member of the Belington Laurel Mountain Post 410 Ladies Auxiliary, attended Concord United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and was known for great desire and gift for quilting.
Friends were received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington Monday, Sept. 5, and today until 11 a.m., the funeral hour, when services were conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating and the Rev. Arden Beck assisting. Interment followed in the Concord Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord United Methodist Church building fund in care of Brian Poling, P.O. Box 231, Belington, W.Va. 26250. Otis B. Zirkle
Otis Buell “Curley” Zirkle, 103, a resident of Camelot Arms Nursing Care Center, Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Philippi, died Friday, June 3, 2005, in Youngstown.
He was born Nov. 3, 1901, at Belington, a son of the late Lorenzo Dow and Mary Frances (Tallman) Zirkle.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Juanita Cammack of Struthers, Ohio, and Tonya Elder of Leesburg, Pa.; five great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and one half-brother and two half sisters, whose names and locations are unavailable.
He was preceded in death by one son, Otis Buell Zirkle Jr.
Mr. Zirkle was a retired coal miner. He was well known as a collector of antiques and a historian. He was Methodist by faith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main St., Philippi, with the Rev. Jim Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery at Belington. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. Monday. Otis B. Zirkle
Otis Buell Zirkle, 103, a resident of Camelot Arms Nursing Care Center, Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Philippi, died Friday, June 3, 2005, in Youngstown, Ohio.

Ruth M. Zirkle
Ruth Mae Zirkle, 77, of Beverly Pike, Belington, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins following a brief illness.
She was born March 22, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles Burton and Ann Mae Sandusky Webster.
On Nov. 28, 1945, she was married to Armond U. Zirkle, who preceded her in death on April 25, 1987.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Cellene and Marvin Myers, with whom she made her home; one son and daughter-in-law, Cal and Phyllis Zirkle of Punkintown community; one brother, Donald Webster of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Todd Cole Myers, Nickolena Floyd, Nathan Patrick Zirkle and Brandice Danielle Zirkle; six great-grandchildren, Amanda Haddix, Trinity Jordan Gray, Jade Nichole Myers, Marshall Ryan Hall, Hannah James Easton and Graylin MaKenzie Floyd; one special stepgreat-grandchild, Tristan Stewart; and two special friends, Pat Chenoweth and Trudie Reger, both of Belington.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Margo J’Nell Zirkle; one grandson, Shawn Ray Myers; and two brothers, William E. Webster and Charles A. Webster.
Mrs. Zirkle was a former clerk in the Belington Prescription Center, a waitress and public school cook. She was Roman Catholic and a member of Resurrection Mission in Belington and had formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Belington.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Ave., Belington. Sister Teresa Reddington will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery.  From 12 Apr 2005.

Vincent Zirkle
Vincent Blaine Zirkle, 82, a resident of the Dogtown Road in Belington departed this life 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, in the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. He had been in rapidly declining health for the past two weeks.
He was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Barbour County, a son of the late Louis J. and Cleo Victoria McCauley Zirkle.
On June 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Lillian Virginia Delauder, who survives at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins.
He is survived by two sons, Roger Zirkle and wife, Linda, of Fisherville, Va., and Melvin Zirkle and wife, Tammy, of Belington; and four sisters, Wilma R. Trytiak of Strongsville, Ohio, Arlene Pallo of Brook Park, Ohio, Oleta Faye Sears of Clearwater, Fla., and Anneta M. Rak of Columbia Station, Ohio.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin Zirkle of Virginia, Rodney Zirkle of Iowa, Vincent Zirkle of New Jersey and Heather Phillips of West Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, Katelyn, Victoria, Tyler and Faith Zirkle, and several stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Zirkle was a graduate of the Belington High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during WWII. He was employed for 32 years at the Belington Farm Service and was a lifetime member of the Laurel Mountain VFW Post 410 of Belington. He was also a member of the Concord United Methodist Church in Belington and attended the Belington Church of the Nazarene.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating and the Rev. Arden Beck and the Rev. Destry Daniels assisting. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery near Belington where full military rites will be accorded. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Vincent Blaine Zirkle.  From 18 Jan 2005.

Glenna J. Zorigne
Glenna J. Simmons Zorigne, 58, a resident of Harman, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 7, 1947, at Keyser, a daughter of the late Russell E. Simmons and Eva Vance Simmons.
She was married to Joseph Francis Zorigne, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Anita J. McFarlan and husband, Kevin, and Renee L. Rollyson and husband, Bud, all of Harman; and one brother, Roger D. Simmons and wife, Faye, of Essex, Md. Four grandchildren, Kristie L. Arbogast of Whitmer, Joseph W. McFarlan, Douglas McFarlan and James McFarlan, all of Harman; and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Berry, Bryant L. Arbogast Jr., Braxton Lee Arbogast and Douglas John McFarlan Jr., also survive.
In addition to her husband and parents, one sister, Laura Lee Simmons, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Zorigne was retired from Essex Community College at Baltimore, Md. She had attended the Church of God at Baltimore, Md.
At the request of the deceased, her remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Glenna J.
