Patricia J. Iaquinta
Patricia Jean Iaquinta, 71, a resident of Mansfield Place and a former
resident of 509 Maple Ave. in Philippi, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, in
United Hospital Center.
She was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Muldrew
S. and Elsie May (Cutlip) Bennett.
Surviving are four daughters, Dana and husband, Ben Stout, of Shinnston, Beth A.
Richards and Jimmy Mitchell of Philippi, Michele F. and husband, Roger Hannah,
of Elkins and Jeanne M. Castle and Sonny Nestor of Philippi; one sister, Helen
Kathaline “Katy” Hollen of Philippi; 11 grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Iaquinta was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Louise Parson and
Anna Lee Bennett; and two brothers, James Arthur Bennett and Winford Linwood
Bennett.
Mrs. Iaquinta retired after 44 years serving Broaddus Hospital at various
positions. She was a Baptist by faith.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St. in Philippi
today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the service
hour with the Rev. Dean Davidson officiating. In honor of Mrs. Iaquinta’s
request, cremation will follow the funeral services. Wright Funeral Home

David L. Ice II
David Lee Ice II, 49, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Tuesday
morning, Aug. 8, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining
health since being diagnosed with a brain tumor in August of 2004.
He was born Monday, Aug. 13, 1956, at Falmouth, Mass., the eldest son of David
Lee Ice and Carol J. Evick Ice, who survive at Elkins.
Also surviving are two daughters, Leesa Lorrayn Ice and Marissa Carol Ice, both
of Elkins; three sisters, Deborah Ice Fincham of Petersburg, Donna Ice Simmons
and Delaine “Dee Dee” Ice, both of Elkins; two brothers, Walter Sherman Ice
of Charleston and Timothy Mathew Ice of Newport News, Va.; his paternal
grandmother, Mary Danley Ice of Elkins; one uncle, Robert Edward Evick of
Waynesburg, Pa.; one aunt, Barbara Erickson of Pasadena, Md.; four nieces,
Danielle Fincham Riggins, Courtney Delaine Cupp, Trenna Elizabeth Simmons and
Meagan Leigh Ice; and five nephews, Derek Lee Fincham, Brandon Lee Simmons,
Brice David Cupp, J. Grant Cupp and Mathew Thomas Ice.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather, Walter Sherman Ice; and
his maternal grandparents, Olin Edward Evick and Helen Mae Evick.
David was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1974, where he was
a member of the band, serving as the drum major his senior year, the basketball
team and the track team, where he was a noted high jumper. He attended Potomac
State College, where he was a member of the basketball team and was a graduate
of Davis & Elkins College with a degree in business, where he was a member
of the Beta Alpha Beta Business Fraternity. David was a member of and past
exalted ruler of the Elkins Lodge 1135, B.P.O.E., was a past member of the
Tygart Valley Lions Club, was an avid sports fan and loved to play golf. At the
time of his illness, he was employed as a salesman for Elkins Fordland. He was a
member of the First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins Friday
from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley
officiating. David’s request for cremation will then be honored. Interment of
the cremains will follow at a later date in Elkins Memorial Gardens at Elkins.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions
to the First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241, the
Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, 1175 Beverly Pike, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or

Genieve D. Ireland
Genieve D. Ireland, 95, a resident of Buckhannon, died at 6 a.m. Monday,
Oct. 2, 2006, in Serenity Care Home at Buckhannon.
She was born Oct. 31, 1910, at Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Perry H. Clark
and Ottie Pence Clark.
In November of 1930, she was married to John C. Ireland, who preceded her in
death Aug. 5, 1983.
Surviving are one son, Robert E. Ireland of Buckhannon; one daughter, Margaret
A. Walls of Buckhannon; one grandson, John Ireland of Buckhannon; two
granddaughters, Jennifer Beer of Buckhannon and Sara Summers of Huntersville,
N.C.; six great-grandsons, Eathan Beer of Buckhannon, Joseph Summers, Cameron
Summers, Kyle Summers, Jarred Summers and Caleb Summers, all of Huntersville,
N.C.; four great-granddaughters, Erin Beer of Buckhannon, Erika Summers, Kaitlyn
Summers and Claudia Summers, all of Huntersville, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Wilda
Clark of Buckhannon; and her serenity family and caregivers.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Ray William Clark and Robert
Clark; and two sisters, Bessie Manley and Thelma Sturm.
She was a homemaker and attended Mt. Herman United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Poling-St. Clair
Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the
funeral home with the Rev. Robert Poling officiating. Interment will follow in
Heavner Cemetery at Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of

Donald E. Isner
Donald E. Isner, 95, of Scott Depot and formerly of Charleston and
Elkins, died Aug. 24, 2006, in Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at
St. Albans.
Born June 19, 1911, at Glenmore, Randolph County, he was a son of the late
Bernard and Ella Adams Isner.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve E. Wilt Isner; his
daughter, Donna J. Holdren; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Beatrice
Isner and Cecil and Willa Isner; his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary L. Isner
and Elmer and Helen Isner Poe; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Isner.
Donald was a 1931 graduate of Elkins High School and was a truck driver for 50
years, retiring with Teamster’s Local 175 of Charleston.
Surviving are his sons, William “Bill” Isner of Hurricane, Douglas Isner of
Martinsville, Ind., Gary Isner and wife, Rebecca, of Winfield and David Isner
and wife, Mary, of Nitro; his daughter, Judith Hudson and husband, C. Gerald
“Jerry,” of Nitro; son-in-law, W. Ray Holdren of Lexington, Ky.; 13
grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Service was Saturday, Aug. 26, at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Elkins with
Chaplain (MAJ) Bruce Reed officiating. Friends called Friday at Chapman Funeral
Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane. Online condolences may also be made at

appreciation to the staff of Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s
