Lois J. Rhodes
She was born Wednesday, July 23, 1930, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Otis Phillips and Cora Mae Biller Phillips. On July 28, 1952, at Parsons, she was married to Charles Alvin Rhodes, who preceded her in death Aug. 11, 2006.
Surviving are one son, Charles Edward Rhodes and wife Susan; one daughter, Sharon Louise Copelan and husband Troy all of Morgantown; one adopted daughter Sandra Bohon and husband Marvin of St. George; four grandsons, Charles Clark, Sean Rhodes, Bobby McGinley and Hunter Bohon; four granddaughters, Tara Foster, Ericka Rhodes-Edwards, Brandi Rhodes and Angela Bohon; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Rhodes, Kaleb Edwards and Charlee Ann Foster.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Phillips, Marvin Phillips and Olin Phillips; and four sisters, Virginia Lee Leake, Grace Murphy, Wanda J. Phillips and Margaret Phillips.
She attended the schools of Tucker County. She was an employee of the former Tucker County Hospital as a nursing assistant until its closing. She enjoyed making holiday crafts and one of her favorite pastimes was jigsaw puzzles.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday, Jan. 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor Monday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jeff Anderson officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.

Josephine White
She is survived by her husband, James White Sr.; two sons James White Jr. of Adrian, Mich., and Terry (Becky Burns) White of Davis; two brothers, Rudy Kovach of Davis and J.R. "Bill" Kovach of Thomas; five grandchildren, Holly White of Louisville, Ky., Joey White of Morgantown, Rachel White of Thomas, Jenna White of Adrian, Mich., and Caleb Burns of Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was retired from Blackwater Falls State Park where she was employed in housekeeping for 20 years. She was a Catholic by faith.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Allen Schwarz officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1985, Elkins, W.Va. 26241. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
