Dessie Phillips

Dessie G. Phillips, 91, a resident of Katie Howes Personal Care Home of Philippi, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, in the Emergency Department of the Broaddus Hospital at Philippi. 

She was born Oct. 9, 1914, at Mill Run, a daughter of the late John Add Bright and Mary Ann Teter Bright. 

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins was in charge of the arrangements.  

Carrie Paugh

Carrie Mae Paugh, 90, formerly of Thomas, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Jonesboro, Tenn., where she had made her home for the past several years.

She was born Feb. 27 1915, at Flanagan Hill, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Catherine Vance Roby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Paugh, in 1979.

Survivors include one daughter, Freda Graham of Limestone, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Tashia and John Lamb, Tonya and Michael McCoy and Tricia Navilhon; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Paugh was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Mae Navilhon; four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Paugh was a homemaker and was a Protestant by faith.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.  Funeral services were on Friday, Jan. 27, at the Hinkle Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Morrison officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
