Kip Ambro 

Kip Ambro, 54, passed into heaven on Jan. 31 in Thomas. 

He was born on March 26, 1955 and grew up in Ravenswood.  Kip graduated from Ravenswood High in 1973, before studying Anthropology at Marshall University in Huntington.  

Kip was an inspired musician, an avid reader and a compassionate member of the Thomas community.  Kip was cherished and celebrated by his famikly here.  He spoke lovingly of his two sons and his brother and will be deeply missed.  

Kip will have a memorial stone placed in the garden at the Purple Fiddle in Thomas.  The burial of a number of his personal items will occur on what would have been his 55th birthday, March 26.

Harold Bennett 

Harold Bennett, 75, a resident of Geneva, Ohio passed away Monday, Feb. 16 at home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1933 in Chestnut Ridge, to Ethel Florence Shipp Taylor and James Andrew Bennett.  On March 20, 1954, he was married to Hazel Marie Kines in Oakland, Md.  

 He retired in 1986 from the Teamsters Local 24 & Local 407.  He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, watching and feeding birds and spending time with his family.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand. 

He is survived by his wife, of 54 years Hazel of Geneva;  children Peggy (Gene) Chaffins of Garretsville, Ohio, Doug (Nancy) Bennett of Elkins, Art (JoAnn) Bennett of Hudson, Ohio, Nikki (David) Haushalter of Kenton, Ohio and Walter (Dorenia) Bennett of Orient, Ohio; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters Janice Geho and Judy Bohon; and three brothers James "Bud", Emerson and Paul Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father Dale Taylor; sisters Madeline Bennett, Thelma Minor and Ada Savino; and brothers Hubert and Don Bennett. 

Friends were received on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio and Friday, Feb. 20 at Hinkle Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Ave., Davis.  Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at Leadmine United Methodist Church, Leadmine.  Final Resting Place was at Shaffer Town Cemetery, Leadmine.

Rupard Hobbs

Rupard Nathaniel Hobbs, 85, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born April 3, 1923, at Fleener, Ark., a son of the late Richard Hulet and Annie May Gillenwater Hobbs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; two grandsons; one brother; and one sister.

He is survived by one son; step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held on Friday, Feb. 20 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating. Online condolence may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
