David Heckler 

David Lee ‘Bud’ Heckler, 74, a resident of the Mackeyville Community, Hambleton, departed this life Wednesday evening, March 14, while playing the guitar and singing praises to the Lord, while attending church at Mackeyville. He had been in his usual health and death was attributed to cardiac arrest.

He was born Sunday, Nov. 6, 1932 at Parsons, a son of the

late William Franklin ‘Weed’ Heckler and Bessie Clare Luzier Heckler. On June 24, 1966 at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Barbara Allen Moore, who survives. They had celebrated forty-one years of marriage.

Also surviving are one son Mark Lee Heckler and wife Susan of Hambleton; two daughters Evonne Heckler of Fla. and Bonnie Patricia Heckler of Bowden; two brothers William J. Heckler and wife Shirley of Hendricks and Steve Heckler and wife Vivian of Fla.; four sisters

Betty Gibbs and husband Anson, Margaret Landry and husband Richard, all of Fla., Phyllis Hebb of Hendricks and Joyce Papadopoulos and husband Steve of Cleveland, Ohio; four granddaughters Courtney, Natalie, Keshia and Emily Jo; and one great granddaughter Mariah.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Vicky Clare Heckler; and one sister Geraldine Purnell.

He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1951. He served with the United State Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the Shipyards at Baltimore, Md., the former Parsons Nursery, the former Parsons Tannery, Hinchcliff Lumber Company, Kingsford

Charcoal Plant and retired from the W.V. Dept. of Highways in 1994 with nineteen years of service. He was a skilled carpenter. He attended the Mackeyville Community Church and the Sycamore Grove Church at Bull Run.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday March 17 at 11 a.m. Pastor Pat Cassidy officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, where the H.W. Daniels Post #29 American

Legion and the Tygart Valley Post #3647 Veterans of Foreign War conducted full military rites. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for David Lee ‘Bud’ Heckler. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com. 

Kenneth M. Knotts

The Rev. Kenneth Morris Knotts Jr., 55, departed this life early Tuesday, March 20, at CAMC in Charleston following a short illness.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home.

Homer Isner

Homer Isner, 86, of Canton, Ohio, died Feb. 22 in his home following a brief illness.

He was born March 26, 1920 at Texas Mtn., to the late James Littlewood and Eliza Pearl (Shafer) Isner. He was a Canton area resident since 1948 and retired from the Ford Motor Co. in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Faith Community Church where he served as Head Usher for many years and had been a Deacon and board member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Belva M. Isner in 2005; one son Michael Isner; two brothers Arabia and Ernest Isner.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law James and Brenda Isner of Westlake, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law Lucille and Herb Groves of Canton and Sandra and Ron Herbert of Canton; one daughter-in-law Cindy (Lawrence) Isner-Weeks of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. 

Catherine Napoleon

Catherine Cecilia Dyson Napoleon, 75, a former resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., Clarksburg, and Parsons, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas, departed this life Friday morning, March 16, at the nursing home. She had been in declining health.

She was born Tuesday, August 18, 1931 at Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late John T. Dyson and Helene Moore Dyson. She was married to William Michael Napolean, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son William Joseph ‘Bill’ Napoleon of Crestview, Fla.; three daughters Debra Ann Thompson and husband John of Fork Mt., Parsons, Catherine Mercollini and husband Nicky of Crafton, Pa. and Patricia Ann Ramirez and husband Humberto of Waxahatchie, Texas; one brother William Dyson and one sister Margaret Mary Dyson both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren John Patrick, Daniel Ray, Debra Lynn, Yvette, William, Shannon and Nicholas; and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one sister Anna Mae; and three grandchildren.

She attended the schools of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a waitress at various restaurants in Pittsburgh for many years. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Tuesday, March 20 at 11 a.m. The Reverend Neil Parsons and The Reverend Father Timothy Grassi officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Catherine Cecilia Dyson Napoleon. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
