Rachel Fike

Rachel Blanche Helmick Fike, 84, a resident of Parsons, departed this life Friday, May 22, at Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins.

She was born Friday, Aug. 22, 1924 at Sugarland, Hambleton, a daughter of the late Henry McClure Helmick and Artinis Phillips. During 1939 at Red House, Md., she was married to the Rev. Earl E. Fike, who preceded her in death August 28, 1988.

Surviving are one son Harold Fike and wife Wanda of Blackman Heights; one daughter Louella McElrath of Parsons; one sister Catherine Shepherd of Ridgley;

five grandchildren Gene and wife Debbie, Mike and wife Bonnie, Teresa and husband Mike, Robert and Rachel; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two sons Troy Fike and Earl Fike Jr.; two daughters Virginia Gladys Fike and Saundra Kay Fike; two brothers Samuel and Johnny Helmick; three half-brothers Ace, Myles and Obe Helmick; three sisters Evelyn Carr, Susan Helmick, Gladys Mason; two half-sisters Zora Dillsworth and Lou.

She attended the Hamrick and Sugarland schools. She was a care giver for the young and the old. She was a member of the former Church of the Brethren at Bull Run and is a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church at Parsons. She will be remembered for her homemade rolls.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday, May 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Wednesday, May 27 at noon. The Rev. John Morrison will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Rachel Blanche Helmick Fike. Timothy Streets

Timothy Dale Streets, 46, of Valley Furnace Community, Rt. 2, Philippi, died

unexpectedly on Thursday, May 21, near his home.

He was born Oct. 25, 1962, at Montrose, a son of the late Robert Brown and Mary Gladys (Jones) Streets.

Survivors include two sisters Peggy Hebb and husband, Robert of Flatwoods and Mary Woods of Parsons; three brothers Charles Murphy, Larry Streets, both of Parsons and Samuel Claude Streets and wife Mary Lou of Valley Furnace; and a sister-in-law Wanda Streets of Valley Furnace.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers Robert Streets and Roger Streets.

Mr. Streets was employed as a carpenter and plumber in the Winterization Program at North Central Community Action. He was a avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 25, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Larry Poling officiated and interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery near St. George. Friends were received at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 24 and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, on Monday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
