Joseph Arhar
Joseph Arhar, 85, of Naples, Fla. died in May.
He was born May 21, 1923 in Davis. He was the beloved husband of Ada Arhar; father of Dana Arhar Wells; brother of Julia Whitehair, Edward Arhar and Ernest Arhar.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Frances Arhar; and brothers Andy, Frank and Tony Arhar.
Willard Feather
Willard James Feather, 99, of Aurora, died Thursday, June 4 at Dennett Road Manor, Oakland, Md.
He was born March 29, 1910 at Stemple Ridge, the son of the late Walter James and Estella Harsh Feather.
He was the last surviving family member.
Willard was well known for his farm machinery business and support for the local farmers. He also served as a Director of the Clear Mountain Bank for many years.
He is survived by two daughters Arvetia Loftin of Las Vegas, Nev. and Glendora Skidmore of Aurora; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alice (Blamble) Feather on March 15, 1993; a daughter Colleen Cooper on Sept. 19, 2000; three sisters Effie, Wilma and Jessie; four brothers Russell, Clifford, Guy and Lawrence; and one grandson Daryl Cooper on Oct. 9, 2008.
Friends were received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home of Terra Alta on Sunday,
June 7 from 5 – 8 p.m. and at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon on Monday, June 8 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the time of service with Revs. J. Roger Fike and Gary Meeks offi ciating. Burial followed in the Maple Spring Cemetery, Eglon.

Gary Nestor
Gary Harold Nestor, 53, a resident of the Mt. Zion Community, St. George, departed this life early Monday evening, June 1, at home. Death was attributed to cancer.
He was born Thursday, Dec. 15, 1955 at Parsons, a son of the late Harold Wilson and Romona Ellen Sherman Nestor.
Surviving are one daughter Melissa Dawn Thompson of Va.; two brothers Jerry F. Nestor and wife Lottie and Matthew B. Nestor and wife Phyllis both of Mt. Zion; two sisters Bernettie J. Nestor of Belington and Lela A. Bohon and husband Ray of Montrose.
Preceding him in death is one brother Larry Wilson Nestor.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1975. He was a former employee of Elkins Ford Co. He was a mechanic most of his life and was a former employee of J.C. Lumber Co.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday, June 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, June 4 at noon. The Rev. Pat Cassidy offi ciated and interment followed at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at St. George. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Barbara Loughry
Barbara J. Loughry, 58 of ineral Wells, passed away Friday, May 29.
She was born Sept. 6, 1950 n Erwin, a daughter of Edith Sheets Wolford of Erwin and the late Hess Wolford.
Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed hummingbirds, yard sales, coupon shopping,
bingo and baking. Most of all, she enjoyed spoiling her grandsons. She was a
member of American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary, Parkersburg.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Roger L. Loughry; a son Roger L. Loughry Jr. and wife Shari of Washington; two grandsons Jacob and Samuel; three sisters Mary Ann Nice and Janet Masters, both of Rowlesburg and Loretta Stone of Newburg; five brothers Jim Wolford of Ohio, Conley Wolford of Kingwood, Kermit and Randall Wolford of Rowlesburg and Mike Wolford of Morgantown.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a half-brother Walter Sheets; and an infant brother and sister.
Visitation was held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, South Parkersburg, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 1 and until the funeral services on Tuesday,
June 2. Pastor Lloyd Keith officiated.
Rev. Gloria Roy
The Reverend Gloria Marie Wingfield Roy, was born in Parsons, on Sept. 14, 1947;
t he daughter of the late Walter Wingfield and Ellowene Sherman Wingfield King, who survives at Petersburg.
She was a 1966 graduate of Elkins High School anda 1969 graduate of Southern Bible College in Houston Texas were she received a Bachelor of Science degree.
In Oct. 1984 Reverend Roy founded New Life Fellowship Church in Elkins. In 1991 the church expanded to include New Life Christian School. She was an ordained minister with the International Pentecostal Holiness church and received the Bishops award for distinguished service in 2002. Prior to founding her church she was an evangelist and was the West Virginia State youth director for the Pentecostal Church of God where she served many years.
Her life was filled with many wonderful accomplishments, including a who’s who recognition award for American teachers.
The Reverend Roy passed away in Cleveland, Ohio on June 6, after a long illness.
Also surviving besides her mother are her step-father Joseph King of Porterwood; her husband Jesse "Stub" Roy, whom she married on June 10, 1971 at Hambleton, who survives at Elkins; three children Valerie Lynn Bright and husband Norman; Mark Allen Roy and wife Tasha; and Jennifer Elaine Key and husband Barry, all of Elkins; and two-step children Pamela Sue Sexton and husband Marlin of Parsons; and D. Scott Roy and wife Jena of Kerens. She is also survived by six grandchildren and bthree step-grandchildren including Toby Sexton, Jeremy Sexton, Travis Roy, Isaac
Bright, Trey Key, Madison Roy, Morgan Key, Halle Roy, and Anna Roy. She also has four brothers James Wingfi eld and wife Sandra of Fayetteville, N.C., Paul Wingfield and wife Maggie of Dailey, Frank Wingfield and wife Ann of Adrian, Mich. and John Wingfield and wife Jean of Parsons; and two sisters Barbara Dilley and husband Max of Elkins and Judy Adkins of Adrian, Mich.
She was greatly loved by her family, community and her congregation. Even though she is gone from this world, it is well known that she is rejoicing in Heaven. Her laughter, joy, and prayers will never be forgotten by those that were privileged to know her.
The family will receive friends at the New Life Fellowship Church, Route #3, Glenmore Community, Elkins from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 11 at which time her home going celebration will be conducted with Rev. John Means, Rev. Eric Pennington and Rev. Josh Pennington officiating. On Friday, June 12 the Rev. Roy will be moved to the Parsons City Cemetery, where graveside services will be conducted at noon. Interment will follow. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the New Life Fellowship Church, Route # 3, Box 536, Elkins, WV 26241.
