Willard Nestor 

Willard J. (Willie) Nestor, 60, of Kingwood died Monday, June 4 in Tunnelton. 

He was born Sept. 23, 1946 in Parsons, a son of Roscoe and Virginia Hovatter Nestor. 

He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather and formerly a classroom teacher for Preston County Schools and a coal miner for F&M Coal Company.  Most recently he was a contractor for Neumonon Gas Company in Core. 

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Donna Valentine Nestor; a son Jason Willard Nestor of Tunnelton; a daughter Dana Beth Millet and her husband Damain of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren Jack and Brooke Millet of Charleston; three sisters and spouses Stephanie and Gary Moats of Parsons, Marilyn Sue and Craig Holler of Little Hocking, Ohio and Becky and Jesse Dean of Buckhannon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law jack and Beryl Valentine of Fairmont; his brother-in-law David Valentine of Fairmont; and his sister-in-law Laura Valentine Laird of Columbus, Ohio.

Mary Stilley

Mary V. "Meme" Picard Stilley, 89, of Davis and formerly of Library, passed away on Sunday, June 10. 

Survivors include children Lonny G. (and Paula), Dennis J. (and Gail); daughter-in-law Joyce; siblings Margaret "Peg" Yonish, Betty Schultz, Helen Treylinek, William and James Picard; grandchildren William, Jackie, John, Wendy, Rachel, Matthew, Steven and Erin; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded ind eath by her husband James B. Stilley; a son William J.; siblings Evelyn Shrader, Ronald,. Raymond and Dellet Gainer, Kathern "Sis" Bonczek, Naomi "Teny" Stovash, Joseph "Bud" Picard and Charles Picard.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at David J. Henney Funeral Home, Library, Pa.  Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 14 at 11 a.m.  

Lucille M. Watring

Lucille Marie Watring, 87, of Thomas, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving children at her side.

She was born Nov. 9, 1919 in Thomas, a daughter of the late Ralph Lewis DePollo Sr. and Mary Mae Wenck DePollo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Martin “Bud” Watring, in 2000; one brother, Ralph DePollo Jr.; and two sisters, Helen DePollo and Dorothy Mae DePollo.

Survivors include a son, David and Frances Watring of Hertford, N.C.; two daughters, Mary Lou and Dennis Beke of Grand Rapids, Mi., and Carol and Mike Helmick of Thomas; a sister, Gertrude and Richard Wilson of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren, David, Michael, Dawn Marie, Brian, Jim, Jeff, Michelle and Amanda; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Lucille was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and St. Thomas Rosary Altar Society.

Friends wiere received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 12  from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A Rosary service was held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Thomas Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 27, Thomas, W.Va. 26292. 

Denver Whitehair Jr.

Denver Arnold “Buck” Whitehair Jr., 36, of Horse Shoe Run, died June 8, along the Blackwater River near Davis.

He was born July 15, 1970 in Oakland, MD., a son of Denver ARnold Whitehair Sr. and Nine Mae Pennington Whitehair. 

Also surviving are three sisters Jennifer Mae and Thomas Fint of Aurora, Margaret Ann and Perry Bolyard of Horseshoe Run and REnita Lynn Whitehair of Horseshoe Run; four nieces Clarice Brown of Swanton Md., Hanna Fint of Aurora, Julie Hartman of Kingwood and Elizabeth Bolyard of Horseshoe Run; one great-niece Cheyenne Brown and one great-nephew Joseph Brown Jr., both of Swanton, Md.  

"Buck" was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He thoroughly enjoyed fishing.  Those who knew him said he could catch a fish when no one else could. 

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis on Monday June 11 from 4 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 12  at 3 p.m. at Maple Grove Assembly of God Church, Eglon with the Rev. Robert J. officiating. Interment will follow in Texas Cemetery, Eglon. 

Philip West

Philip West, a former Dry Fork resident, died April 3.  A memorial service will be held at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elkins on Saturday, June 30 at 2 p.m.
