Kenneth Rosier ![]()
Kenneth Virgil Rosier, 85, a resident of the Holly Meadows Community, Parsons, departed this life early Tuesday morning, June 9 at his home.
He was born Monday, June 18, 1923 at Clover Run, Tucker County a son of the late Ode Rosier and Mattie Moore Rosier. He was married to the former Marie
Elizabeth Robertson Rosier, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons Kenneth Lee Rosier and wife Delores and Charles Ode Rosier and wife Helen, all of Pa.; one step-son Walter Pleasnaik and wife Jenny of Pa.; four daughters Blanche Marie Hoover and husband James of Pa., Joyce Lee Hovatter and husband O.J., Diane Elizabeth Knotts and husband David, all of Parsons and Stacy Marie Coffman and husband John of Elkins; seventeen grandchildren and
twelve great-grandchildren.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by two sons Riley John Rosier and Kenneth Virgil Rosier; four brothers Ace, Charlie, Cliff and Elmer Rosier; one sister Nellie Nestor; and one grandson.
He attended the Harper one room school at Clover Run. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II. He was a former employee of the Chesapeake Paper Mill for sixteen years and Firth Sterling at Pa. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish and he was a noted gardener.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday,
June 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday, June 12 at 2 p.m. Pastor Allen D. Crosten officiated and interment followed at the Harsh Cemetery at Clover, Tucker County The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Tucker County Senior Center, 206 3rd Street, Parsons, WV. Norman Wratchford
Norman Edward Wratchford, 83, a resident of Parsons, departed this life Sunday evening, June 14, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas.
He was born Sunday, Jan. 17, 1926 at Parsons, a son of the late Thomas and Mae Bennett Wratchford. He was twice married. First to Pearl Deloris Auvil, who preceded him in death Dec. 15, 2000. Second to the former Lucille Rhoades, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters Cheryl Joann Evans and husband Robert and Norma Jean Young, all of Akron, Ohio; one sister Twila Lewis and husband Richard of Hambleton; three grandchildren William ‘Billy’ Evans, Joshua and Jeremiah Young.
Preceding him in death are one infant son and one infant daughter Susan Marie; three brothers Mont Wratchford, Delvin ‘Squeak’ Wratchford, and Harold Wratchford.
He attended the schools of Tucker County. He was employed for over thirty years for Good Year Aerospace, from which he also retired.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsonson Tuesday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Wednesday, June 17 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. The Family would like to extend their appreciation to the Staff at Cortland Acres Nursing Home for their special care. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
