Margaret V. Knotts
Margaret Virginia Case Knotts, 79, a former resident of Tucker County and more recently a resident of Barbour County, where she made her home with her daughter, Margaret Ann "Susie" Snyder, departed this life Friday morning, June 15, 2007. She had been in declining health.
She was born Tuesday, May 22, 1928, at Rowlesburg, a daughter of the late William Kenneth Case and Claris Maude Rhodeheaver. On Oct. 4, 1953, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Russell Arnel Knotts, who preceded her in death May 1995.
Surviving are one son, Russell Kenneth Knotts and wife Linda of Mt. Zion; one daughter, Margaret Ann "Susie" Snyder and husband George of Philippi; two brothers Joseph Case of Charleston and Bill Case of Mill Vill; seven sisters, Bessie Shultz of Kingwood, Eileen Harris and Jane Sizemore, both of Roanoke, Va., Anita Nestor of Little Washington, Pa., Ruby Phillips and Linda Lou Case, both of Mill Vill, and Sally Moreland of Tunnelton; six grandchildren, Kimberly Sue, Jessica, Stacey, Holly, Melissa and James; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are one son, Joseph Knotts; two daughters, Linda Louise Knotts and Christina Jane Blackston; and four sisters, Pauline, Thelma Mae, Patty Ann and Nell.
She attended the school of Rowlesburg. She had worked for the former DeWitt Restaurant at Rowlesburg, Hinchcliff Lumber Co. and she was a homemaker.
The family received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, June 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Tuesday, June 19, at 2 p.m. Pastor Bryan M. Headley officiated and interment followed in Knotts & Shaffer Cemetery at Macomber. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Randolph County Unit, 105 Wilson Lane, Elkins, W.V. 26241.
