Joseph Waugh
Joseph Stanley Waugh, 59, of Bruceton Mills (Pisgah Community), died Monday, June 29, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
The son of the late Henry Stanley and Mary Icamtha Sowards Waugh, he was born April 27, 1950, in Huntington.
He was a retired Deputy Superintendent of the Davis Correction Center.
Joe is survived by two sisters Judith K. Ferguson of Brandon, Miss., and Vicki Lynn Snyder of Pearl, Miss.; and four brothers Paul Michael Waugh and his wife Eleanor of Gainesville, Fla., James Kent Waugh of Ravenswood, Daniel Eric Waugh of Ravenswood, and Charles Tracy Waugh and his wife, Susan, with whom he recently made his home in Bruceton Mills.
Friends were received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, on Thursday, July 2 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Friday, July 3, 2009, from noon until the service at 1 p.m., with Pastors Tim Wotring and Steve Wotring officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Bruceton Mills (Pisgah).

Argle Friend ![]()
Argle ‘Al’ L. Friend, 85 of Mentor, Ohio passed away on June 27 at Lakewest Hospital.
He was born Nov. 21, 1923 in Leadmine, a son of the late Florence and Frank Friend.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Marjorie C. Friend ; children L i n d a F r i e n d , Rosetta, Madonna, Deborah (Donald) Pirl and Louise (Sheldon) Stahl; step-children Christine (Ed) Serfass, Dawn (Harvey) Wall, Michael (Kathy) Crooks and Thomas Crooks; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Okarita Stemple; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Rita Brown; and brothers Earl, Ralph and Willard Friend.
He retired from Euclid Road Machine as a power shear operator after 30 years of service. He was a US Navy WWII Veteran, a charter member of the VFW in Mentor and enjoyed gardening.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. Services were held at 7 p.m. at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio 44095.
