Romona H. Hebb
Romona "Lucille" Hardy Hebb, 73, a native of Parsons, and a resident of Ethel Street, Elyria, Ohio, departed this life early Thursday morning, July 13, 2006, at the South West General Health Center at Middleburg Heights, Ohio, following a short illness.
She was born Thursday, Jan. 12, 1933, at Parsons,
a daughter of the late George Hardy and Mildred "Dutch" Nestor Hardy.
On December 28, 1951, she was married to Russell "Prentice" Hebb, who
survives.
Also surviving are one son, Larry G. Hebb of Philippi; three brothers, Ernest, Delmis and Kenny Hardy, all of Parsons; four sisters, Phyllis Davis and Lorene Shahan of Parsons, Helen Wess of Lorain, Ohio, and Betty Bolinger of Elyria, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Nicole Hebb-Burner and Dustin Hebb.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were one son, Prentice Hebb; and one brother, Alfred Hardy.
Mrs. Hebb was a devoted member of the Christian Life Church at Lorain, Ohio, and loved spending time with family and friends.
The family received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Eli D. Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons Family Cemetery at Shaver’s Fork. Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Romona "Lucille" Hardy Hebb. Alma Mullennex
Alma Vada Corrick Mullennex, 92, a resident of Hambleton and more recently a resident of the Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas, departed this life early Monday morning, July 17, 2006 at the nursing home.
She was born Thursday, July 24, 1913, at Hambleton, a daughter of the late James Lloyd Corrick and Mabel Long Corrick. On July 7, 1929, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Frank Mullennex, who preceded her in death July 1, 1964.
Surviving are three sons, Frank Allan Mullennex and wife, Rosemary, of Hendricks, David Lynn Mullennex of Hambleton and Larry Neal Mullennex and wife Carol of Austintown, Ohio; one daughter, Barbara Joanne Mullennex Carr and husband Donald L. of Parsons; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in
death by three brothers, William W. 'Ted' Corrick, James Leo Corrick
and Roy Corrick; and three sisters, Velma Corrick Steyer, Verona Corrick Hall
and Viola Corrick Craptree.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1966. She was a former employee of the Cook Printing Company of Huntington and a former employee of McClain Printing Company of Parsons. She was the Site Supervisor for the Tucker County Senior Center from 1973 until 1984. She was a member of the former Liberty Rebecca Lodge #95 of Parsons of which she served as Post Noble Grand. She was a member of the Hambleton United Methodist Church and was the oldest member of the church at the time of her death. She was an avid reader.
The family received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday, July 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. John Morrison will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Alma Vada Corrick Mullennex. Victoria Smith
Victoria Louise Crawford Smith, 91, of Rochester, N.Y., and formerly of Catskill, N.Y., died July 17 in Park Ridge Living Center, Rochester where she had been a patient since February.
She was born Oct. 1, 1914, the daughter of the late Peter R. and Ora Carson Crawford of Olivebridge, Ulster County, N.Y. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
On June 29, 1934, in Highland, N.Y., she married George Adrain Smith, who preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1992.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George A. Jr. and Mariwyn McClain Smith of Parsons; a son-in-law and daughter, James E. and Linda L. Stewart of Rochester and Brandon, MI; six grandchildren, Kenneth Smith of Parsons, Barbara and Carl Smith Broaddus Plumley of Germantown, Md., Faith and MSgt. Ken Robinson of Hope Mills, N.C., Jason and Julene Stewart of Brandon, MS, Jeffrey and Melissa Stewart of Hilton, N.Y., and Heath Stewart of Ridgeland, MS; eight great-grandchildren, Sarah and Elizabeth Smith, Elijah and Quinn Broaddus, Katelynn Robinson, Nathan Stewart and Tyler and Victoria Stewart; five step-great-grandchildren, Yoshitaka and Brandy Nakamura, Angela and Joseph Plumley, and Ashley Roberts; and one great-great-grandson, Isaac Wade Roberts.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter R. Jr., Oliver and Theodore Crawford; three sisters, Jessie Cohen, Ora Crawford, Cora Jackman; and infants, Laura and Archibald Crawford.
Mrs. Smith had been a deacon in Christ’s Church Presbyterian, and a member of Chapter 293 Order of Eastern Star in Catskill.
Services will be held Thursday, July 20, burial will follow in Catskill City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tucker Community Endowment Foundation, P. O. Box 491, Parsons, WV 26287.
