Philip Doerle

Philip Harry Doerle, 90 of Canaan Valley, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30 at his residence.

He was born March 1, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pa., a son of the late Philip Harry Doerle and Constance Partello.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy R. Doerle of Canaan Valley; a son Bruce C. Doerle of Orlando, Fla.; and one daughter Phyllis Guinta of Honeybrook, Pa.

Mr. Doerle was a retired insurance examiner. He was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years and he was a US Army Veteran who served in WWII.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 6 until 7 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Allen Schwarz will officiate. At the request of the deceased, his remains were cremated. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Canaan Valley Fire Department, P.O. Box 545, Davis, WV 26260. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lowell Paugh

Lowell Todd Paugh, 71 of Gettysburg, Pa. passed away Aug. 28 at Gettysburg Hospital.

He was born Jan. 4, 1938 in Douglas, a son of the late Robert Cecil Paugh and Mary Leanna Roby Paugh who survives in Thomas.

Also surviving are his wife Lillian Rhodes Paugh of Gettysburg, Pa.; one sister Dorothy Hull of Davis; one brother Robert Paugh of Ocala, Fla.; two step-sons; nieces Diane Perica of Portland, Ohio and Donna Mason of Parsons; nephews James Hull and Robbie Hull of Davis, Rich Hull of Parsons, Steve Hull of St. George and Bobby Paugh of Rochester Hill, Mich; and an aunt Lucy Reed of Florida. Mr. Paugh was a retired heavy equipment operator.

He enjoyed camping, boating and snowmobiling.

Friends were received on Monday, Aug. 31 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Michelle Sharp

Michelle Lynn Sharp, 22, a resident of Parsons, and more recently of Waynesboro, Va., departed this life Monday, Aug. 31 at her home following a short illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are under the direction of the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home.Condolences may be expressed to the family at www. lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
