Karen R. Dixon

Karen Ruth Allen Dixon, 59, a resident of Parsons, departed this life Tuesday morning, Aug. 29, at her home.

She was born Oct. 30, 1946, at Covington, Ky., a daughter of the late James Allen, who preceded her in death in 1988 and Lillian Ruth McGlone, who survives at Indianapolis, Ind.  On May 18, 1969, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Robert Allen Shupp Sr., who survives.

Also surviving are one son; Robert Allen “Bobby” Shupp Jr. of Parsons; two daughters, Kelly Ruth Osborn and fiance, Stephen Lee Church, of Hendricks and Lillian Dawn Shupp of North Vernon, Ind.; two brothers, James Robert Allen and wife, Patricia, of Greenwood, Ind. and Donald Edward Allen and wife Cheryl of Indianapolis, Ind.; four sisters, Dawn Scott and husband Dan of St. Petersburg, Fla., Trina Anslow and husband Michael of Hatsfield, Pa., Joy Waybright of Elkins and Patti Prater of Columbus, Ind.; and two grandsons, Anthony Scott Shupp and Robby Allen-Lee Shupp.

Preceding her in death were one son, James Edward Shupp; and one sister, Jackie Steivers.

She attended various schools, having been in a military family. She was employed as a cook in the restaurant business. She enjoyed her animals, her plants and crochet. She had the greatest love for her grandsons.

The family received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday, Aug. 31  from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor Friday, Sept. 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Eli Hostetler officiated and interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thomas. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Karen Ruth Allen Dixon. Edward Fulton

Edward Lee Fulton, age 71, a resident of Hendricks, departed this life Saturday afternoon, Sept. 2, 2006, at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.

He was born Monday, June 10, 1935, at Kempton, Md., a son of the late Murl Eli Fulton and Hazel Elizabeth Lipscomb.  On April 6, 1963, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Elma Nadine Bohon, who survives at Hendricks.

Also surviving are two sons, Edward James “Eddie” Fulton and wife Kelly of Thomas and Michael Paul Fulton and wife Patty of Hendricks; three daughters, Elizabeth Marie McCallister and husband William Lee of Hambleton, June Elaine Merilic and husband Thomas Eugene of Newport News, Va., and Roberta Lea Heckler and David of Hambleton; two brothers, Howard Franklin Fulton of Parsons and Robert Alfred Fulton of Hendricks; one sister, Elva Fulton Thompson and husband Glen of Parsons; twelve  grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death were one brother, Curtis Murl Fulton; and one granddaughter, Amy Renee Vandevender.

He attended the Red House School at Maryland. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of Parsons Nursery, Kingsford Charcoal Company and Hinchcliff Lumber Company. He attended the Pentecostal Church of God at Rosendorf. He was very artistic and loved to draw.

The family received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. The Rev. William McCallister and The Rev. John Means will officiate and interment will follow in Fansler Cemetery at Hendricks.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Edward Lee Fulton. Debra Haririnia

Debra Lynn Poling Haririnia, 54, of Fairfax, Va., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2206, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Colvert and Mildred Murphy Poling. 

She is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years Hossein; and three daughters Yassi, Nazzi and Shirin and many other friends and relatives.  

Rose McCabe

Rose Ann McCabe, 88, of Davis, passed away Aug. 30, 2006, at her home.

She was born May 11, 1918, at Jordan Run, a daughter of the late Andrew C. and Nora M. Rohrbaugh.

She is survived by six children, Connie Andreason of Loveland, Col., Mary Quattro of Camden, Ohio, John Bjornvick of Middleburg, Fla., James Bjornvick of Savannah, Ga., Loraine Fairchild of Davis and Rosemary McCabe of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by one sister, Betty Sponaugle of Davis; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

Rose was a member of the Twin City Fellowship Church of Thomas.

Friends were received at Twin City Fellowship Church of Thomas, on Saturday, Sept. 2 from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services  were held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim Strahin officiating.  Interment followed in Teter Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  

Michael Parsons

Michael David Parsons, age 45, a resident of Hambleton, departed this life Wednesday morning, Aug. 30, at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected. 

He was born Saturday, Sept. 3, 1960, at Parsons, a son of Richard Ward Parsons of Charlotte, N.C. and Norma Lee Parsons of Hambleton.  On Aug. 12, 1988, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Dawn Lynne Rhoades, who survives at Hambleton.

Also surviving are one son, Michael David Parsons Jr. of Pennsylvania; three daughters, Shanna Lee Parsons of Hambleton, Brandi Lynne Cale and husband Wesley Scott of Parsons and Kristen Anne Mick of Hambleton; two brothers, the Rev. Neil Parsons and wife Judy of Hambleton and Roger Parsons and wife Phyllis of Danberry, N.C.; one sister, Darlya Rapp and husband John of Davis; six grandsons, Logan Michael Parsons, Wesley Cale of Philippi, Brandon and Todd Cale and Austin Clark, all of Parsons, and Bryson Harper of Hambleton; one granddaughter, Lesley Cale of Parsons; seven nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daryl Lovell and Hazel Irene Shaffer Parsons; and his maternal grandparents, Denver Lee Smith, Ethel Raines Smith and the late Bessie Lambert Smith.

Mike was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1978. From 1979 until 1985, he served in the United States Air Force. 

He was employed as an auto technician for Performance Motors at Parsons. He attended the Hambleton United Methodist church.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved spending time with his family.

The family received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor Sunday, Sept. 3, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Neil Parsons officiated and interment followed at Parsons City Cemetery. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Michael David Parsons.
