Precious Maxine McCauley Helmick, 89, of Davis, passed away Nov. 22, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
She was born July 16, 1919 at Benbush, a daughter of the late Lloyd Camden mcCauley and Rosetta Frances Stuart.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Franklin Helmick on July 5, 1952; one daughter Dixie Lea Helmick; six brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Helmick is survived by three daughters Maxine Virgnia Dumire of Parsons, Laura Frances St. John of Davis and Lola Flroence Cioni of Burke, Va.; two step-daughters Melissa Ann Longo of Burke Va. and Jennifer Mary Merkel of Annandale, Va.; one sister Ruth Gertrude Roby of Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren Ronald allen Dumire, Dicky Lee Helmick, Ricky L. Helmick and Ryan Matthew Ciono; and ten great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Helmick was a dishwasher at Wordens Hotel and Coopers Restaurant, and was a homemaker.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 24 at Hinkle FuneralCHapel at 2 p.m. iwth the Rev. Glen Dumire officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Elmer L. Jones
Elmer Leon Jones, 66, departed this life Nov. 15. His death was attributed to heart failure.
He was the son of the late Ray and Pauline Jones.
He leaves behind his wife Janice Griffith Jones; three children Susan Brooks, Phillip "Shawn" Jones and Michael Jones; six grandchildren Shoshanna, Kira, Vinny, Phillip, Lance, and Rayna; two brothers Walter Jones and Allen Jones; two sisters Janice Arnold and Ruth Tacy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant son Elmer Jones Jr.
He served his country in Vietnam as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.
The cremated remains will be interred at the Parsons Cemetery at a later date.
