Gladys Donica

Gladys K. Donica, 93, of Garden City, Mich. passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital at Livonia, Mich. Dec 17.

She was born June 15, 1914 in Elkins, a daughter of the late William and Louise Boggs Knavenshue.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan Flatt; two sons, John E. (and Susan) and Gregory M. (and Patricia) Donica; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Donica.

Friends and family will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home Saturday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Graveside committal services will be at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Officiating was Father Timothy Grassi. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

Virgil Evans

Virgil Lee Evans, 86, of Baltimore, Md., died Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the home of his daughter in Aurora.

He was born March 21, 1921 at Leadmine, a son of the late Perry Jackson and Sarah Ann Fansler Evans. 

He was  U.S. Army veteran of WWII.  He retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service.  He is the last surviving member of his family of 12 siblings.  

He is survived by five daughters Gloria Howard of Aurora, Susan Brace of Tygh Valley, Ore., Sherry Hauser of Oakland, Md., Barbara Snyder of Terra Alta and Debra Evans of Baltimore, Md., 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Knotts Evans; a son; eight broehers and three sisters. 

Cremation services were provided by Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta.  PErsonal condolences may be made to the family at www.arthurwrightfuneralhome.com.  

Jeannette Taulelle

Jeannette W. "Janet" Taulelle, 88, of Capon Bridge and formerly of Tucker County died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Tender Heart Home in Delray. 

Mrs. Taulelle was born on May 17, 1919 in Albert, A daughter of the late Alexander and Alice Muir Wardrope.  Mrs. Taulelle married Paul A. Taulelle on Sept. 18, 1970. 

Surviving with her husband are three sons George A. Knaggs of Richmond, Va., Vince E. Knaggs of Columbia, Md. and William "Bill" Knaggs of Capon Bridge; one brother Roy Wardrope of Baltimore, Md.; one stepson Douglas Taulelle and one stepdaughter Karen Taulelle, both of St. Paul, Mn.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  

She was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Methodist faith and a member of the Capon Bridge Senior Center in Capon Bridge.  

Family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 from 5-8 p.m.  A funeral service was held at the Giffin Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at 1 p.m.  Officiatng was Rev. Jack Wardrope.  Internment was at the Fairview Cemetery near Gore, Va.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV  25401 or Capon Bridge Senior Center, PO Box 310, Capon Bridge, WV  26711.  Arragnements were by the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge, West Virginia.
