TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE WETZEL COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
On June 30, 2009 the Wetzel County Genealogical Society will be closing its
doors. There are many reasons for our closing. The officers have discussed the
reasons for the past two years.
The interest in genealogy is not as great as it use to be. Information found on
the internet grows each day. WCGS cannot operate under these circumstances.
Those of you who have paid your dues in advance will have your money returned.
Our genealogical collection located in the New Martinsville Library will remain
there.
The money left in our account will be donated to the New Martinsville Library
which has given us space for our collection for the past 30 years.
The books we have for sale will also be donated. We are not sure where at this
time. We will remain in possession of these books until June 30, 2009.
A list of our books for sale is listed below. By
all means, if you wish to purchase any of these books, please do so as soon as
possible.
Lastly, there are many of you who have been members from the beginning and some
who are "newer" members. We thank each and every one of you for your loyalty,
your support and your friendship. WCGS would not have been possible without
you.
