Trails to the Past

Needs Volunteers, to adopt a county contact Billie Walsh Wyoming State Administrator
Being a County Administrator is fun and rewarding.  If you have an interest in the history of Wyoming and the genealogy of it's residents please consider it.  If you think "there is no way I can do this" there are many people ready and willing and able to help you.  It's not near as difficult as you might think.

My name is Marie Miller and as your  Fremont County Wyoming Administrator if you have any Obituaries, News clippings, Death, Marriage, Birth or any other information   Please email me with your contributions.

Fremont County was organized in 1884, and was named after John C. Fremont, general, explorer, and politician.   It is also home of the Wind River Indian Reservation which is the home of the Shoshone and Arapho tribes of the Native Americans.  Lander is the county seat of Fremont County, and was named after a transcontinental explorer Fredrick W. Lander.  It is located in Central Wyoming along the middle fork of the Popo Agie River.
