Alfred “Al” Halsted, 93, of Yankton, S.D., died Dec. 18, 2000. Funeral arrangements are pending at Ray’s Funeral Chapel in Yankton. Mr. Halsted was the brother of Dorothy Gibbs and father of Dorothy Fink, both of Sheridan. He was a science teacher in Yankton High School for more than 30 years. He was a frequent visitor to Sheridan and had many friends here. He was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters Alice Halsted and Jessie Mae Halsted of Sheridan. Memorials are suggested to Bauer-Halsted Scholarship Fund, in care of Yankton High School, 1801 Summit, Yankton, S.D. 57078.
