National Cemetery Recording Project

Familia Scanning Project

Project leader: Richard Ford (National)

The aim of this project is to continue to scan and publish all editions of the quarterly journal of the GSSA on CD. The first phase of this project was completed by Danie Viljoen, and the total period 1964 - 1999 has been published on CD. See the Products page for more details.

The period 2000 to 2003 is being scanned by Paul Maré. The period 2004 has already been scanned by Colin Pretorius. Once scanning is complete, a revised CD will be issued.

Van Wyk Book

Project leader: Isabel Groesbeek (Northern Transvaal branch)

Isabel took over this project after Henri Schoeman's recent demise. The basis of this work was Van Wyk names collected from voters lists. It is being augmented with other available Van Wyk data, and family relationships are added. Please send Isabel any Van Wyk names and information that you may have, especially from the Northwest Cape and the South Cape.

Estate Notices 1994 - 2001

Project leaders: Adriaan Swanepoel and Gert Kok (Northern Transvaal branch)

The Northern Transvaal branch purchased estate notices in electronic format and these are now being indexed. The aim is to publish this information on a CD-ROM, with a search facility. The information will include all estate notices published in the Government Gazette from January 1994 to June 2001.

The planned completion date for this project is January 2003.
